Ooooh.... just looked that up - looks good! I've been thinking a lot about how we do ourselves an injustice by always being busy busy busy and not spending nearly enough time just being.
I can't wait for some downtime over the next month or so - until we ramp up and start again :)
I read it from the library, then had to buy. the copy is now full of scribbles and folded over pages!
Read his work on Capitalism, and it felt more like a collection of disparate essays that he hadn't quite pulled together yet. But Scent of Time, dense as it is, is a beautiful thing!
REALLY speaks to the nature of our current accelerated state, as opposed to telling how to deal with it (aka "live in the moment" regurgitated stuff). The understanding is making me think deeply about how to make changes.
Yay Niki! Congratulations on your first semester. I am IMPRESSED that you got through that stack of books. 📚 Nice. And so lovely to have this special time with Dani--would that I may too one day share such a journey with one or both of my sons.
I really enjoyed your sketches!
Thank you Walter!
I've been reading and re and re and re-reading Byung-chul Han's "The Scent of Time"--an absolutely amazing book. So exciting to be learning.
Thank you for sharing this with us, Nikki!
Do enjoy the coming month and some time off to let it all simmer--mulled like Glögg!
