We made the game more interesting by only using a 1954 dictionary...if it wasn't in there we were not allowed to use the word even though we knew we would find the word in a modern dictionary
I have about 30 t-shirts from all the various clubs my son once belonged to. Nobody else wants a shirt with his name and his interests but I could not throw them away. I'm very practical, but even I would not need this many rags. They sat in a box until I found something to make with them. I am making t-shirt yarn...that hopefully I will use to tie packages or crochet into a runner. This is a great option, especially for t-shirts that are clean but stained.
Ok - I'm totally intrigued! T-shirt yarn? I'm off to Google... I don't knit, but my daughter does. Which could be an awesome way to breathe new life into old t-shirts!
I didn’t know if I could post a link but you will find it. Your t shirts are a lot nicer than the soccer, baseball, drama, 4-H club, etc shirts from my son. Still it is better than wasting them. I’m glad we shared.
omg I am extremely jealous of her collection of scrabble t shirts. My mom and I would play for hours but somehow the game does not feel the same since she died.
My mom was not much of a traveler but I sent her thimbles every time I took to the sky. It was quite the collection and as I was cleaning up after her death it was hard to part with them.
I do believe you will keep a German shirt and the symphony splash one
Thimbles would take up a lot less room than t-shirts! I have to say that once Mom took up serious competitive SCRABBLE-playing, a game against her was a whole lot less fun. And, not just because she became almost impossible to beat, but because she was a stickler for rules! The games were timed (she had a collection of chess clocks used for tournaments and just because we played at the kitchen table didn't mean we were exempt from keeping things moving along). No way could I double-check a word in the dictionary - and, no, we weren't allowed to use anything other than the most current edition of the official SCRABBLE dictionary when it came to deciding if a word was acceptable.
I did play in a tournament or two (in the beginner room, not with the Experts, where my mother plucked her tiles out of custom-made pouches), but the stress was just too much for me :) My career as a serious player was so short I didn't acquire even a single shirt.
Well I’m guessing ... the word-nerd definition of scrabble player T... ( personally I’d choose the blue indigenous design Vancouver island... or the storybook Holland one with three sweet children as restful images to sleep in)... but... thinking of you, Nikki Tate, my guess is NASA’s succinct if not sugar-coated optimism: “Failure Is Not An Option”...
I do like that 'Failure Is Not An Option' message (and that was a serious contender), but no - not one I chose to keep. I'll do a reveal after a few more guesses come in.
You make me think about what my kids will have to deal with. Decluttering begins soon. My guess is the black T with the little Canadian guy and the windmill.
Those custom Scrabble tees are awesome.
Right? My mother loved those and always wore one for at least one of the days of a multi-day tournament.
That's so cool.

That’s a new twist :)

Another twist we had is we could make up words but needed to tell the other person it's definition...oh my the laughs
T shirts are he HARDEST to down size!
