Hummm...boxes....I have so little memory boxes which has me thinking why...for me I don't visit memories that often..I seem focused on the here and now but I am not sure how I became that way. My entire life memories fits into a shoebox...I am not sure if that is a sad statement or not????

I don’t think it’s sad - what a gift to live in the now. Waaaaay less clutter to deal with :) And what a great question to ponder - if I had a shoebox-size limit on what I could keep, what would go in there?

When I first opened your article the word FLICK looked like a completely different word. Sorry. Great article. Drawing is really coming along.

LOL - oh dear. Yes, I see what you mean - Clearly drawing didn’t come easily or I might have done more when I was a kid (and, as a result, improved much faster).

This battle of the boxes is very present in my life. My wife is the curator of unread sections of the NYT, travel guides to places we long ago moved away from (Beautiful Door County, Wisconsin!), plus old magazines that may or may not contain pieces I wrote. I am death to forgotten papers, but have a soft spot for old technology and broken things I might fix one day. I fear that in the future, our sons will be tasked with throwing all that shit out, as we did 1,000 saved margarine containers my mother-in-law preserved. All dumpster-bound, and still we don't learn!

Indeed the shoebox would only hold the most valuable memories
