Hi Nikki,
I'm in "the two-hour window" waiting for Telus tech to arrive, so it seemed like a good time to try and liven up the very sedate flowers I drew yesterday. I bought a thing called a Koi water brush (kind of a portable water supply, with a brush tip) which isn't as precise as I thought it would be. Lots of "mistakes" due to too much water, but at least it isn't anemic, right?
Next step--make it abstract?
Telus guy just called--he'll be here in 5 minutes. Yay!

Hi Sarah!
What better way to wait for the Telus tech than to get wild with flowers?! Definitely not anemic and kind of cool in places where the different intensities of colour create depth and contours without drawing per se…
I decided to tackle a storefront following an urban sketching course I had forgotten I had downloaded at some point… Biggest problem is the scale of the tables outside this café. They are completely wrong (way too small, low) but I’m not entirely sure how to fix them. My brain seems to have shut down completely… I may take another look at this tomorrow or I may start again with a different image… Or, I may upload the image into my iPad and lean heavily on the photo as reference to try to figure out what the heck I need to be doing perspective and proportion-wise. Then, I could try again on paper.
My oh my.
Hope you are well connected once again!
Talk to you tomorrow -
Nikki
