Hi Nikki,
I had big plans for today. After two client calls in the morning I was going to finish the post-festival/pre-phone call with Don scene I have been writing, then tackle part of a manuscript assessment, do a beautiful drawing and go for a walk in the sunshine.
I did finish the scene, but it was tough sledding. It didn't help that the fire alarms in my building were being tested, which meant a lot of beeping, and alarm noises all day, some in my suite. Not too conducive to concentrating. That's my excuse, anyway.
I didn't get any work done either, and my drawing is not terribly inspired--another Sibley bird, this time an owl in charcoal, which was a mistake. He/she looks a bit grumpy, which reflects my mood today. My walk was what I call "boulevard running" with K&K. They run on the boulevards, stopping at every driveway or cross street, while I stroll along behind telling them when it's safe to run. Anyway, not feeling like much of a writer or artist today.
This too shall pass, as my mother used to say. Perhaps some chocolate will help.
XO S
Hello Sarah -
Oh, my - it has been one of those days - full from start to finish, so much so that I had to resort to pulling something out of an old sketchbook.
Mixed media collage and I’m not sure what all went into this…
There’s a great old Sufi story that concludes with the line, This, too shall pass. I always thought that would be a good line to tattoo somewhere on my body.
Until tomorrow -
Nikki
