Tulips again

Dear Nikki,

On the plus side, I didn’t spend the day lying down, and I did paint the tulips again (and started two birthday cards). On the minus side—ongoing pain. I’m back on the couch now, heating pad on my back and hip, but looking at some gorgeous hellebore flowers floating in a pottery bowl.

ouch!! That doesn’t sound pleasant - the pain part. I’m excited to see how this series of tulips develops - I’ve really enjoyed previous multi-day projects… series like these are a cool way to mark the passage of time.

I, too, revisited yesterday’s subject - though I did not start anew, but added a bit of foliage and tried to make the water a bit more dimensional rather than just a flat background wash. Fish are actually a cool subject, though these are cartoony.

Snorkelling with actual fish is one of the most entrancing activities I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying. I should try to draw some actual fish - as in, those modelled on real species.
