Hi Nikki,
After seeing my eye doctor for a visual field test and a glaucoma pressure check, I meant to do a watercolour based on a sketch I did while I was eating my lunch at Cattle Point after the appointment. But by the time I got home my eyes were tearing up, stinging and blurry. Nose a faucet. Allergy to the eyedrops? Or something in the air? Whatever it is, painting is out of the question, as is working on my computer. So here is the tree I drew yesterday. Must close my eyes now.

Hi Sarah -
the eye trouble does not sound like much fun at all. With any luck, I good night’s sleep will clear things up. The only good thing to come of this is me getting to see yesterday’s tree! It feels like it belongs in A.A. Milne’s original Winnie the Pooh…
You know back when you were doing the YouTube urban sketching project? Do you remember the name of the artist/teacher? I stumbled across this Toby guy who does loose, wobbly lines that are right up my alley.
Though, my lines are a lot less wobbly than his - I will revisit another subject (from one of my photos, not his) and keep things even looser next time. I didn’t quite finish the video (wherein he adds a bit of watercolour). Actually, I could even take a few minutes at some point, sit out on my deck, and try capturing the houses across the street. That could be fun to do together when you are here on your visit (soon!!)
See you tomorrow -
Nikki
Ian Fennelly Urban Sketching. I like your sketch a lot--and the idea of sketching together in July.
