Tip top tabletop delights and a night spent sleeping in the car
Dear Sarah - Day 134 of our daily drawing exchange
May 14, 2025
Hi Nikki,
Busy day today, and I knew I wouldn't be home until after 6, so I did my drawing quite early this morning. I drew what's on my table, trying to sketch lightly and fairly quickly with a pencil. I wish I'd been bold enough to use ink, but I'm happy with the results.
Are you in BC yet? Is the weather forecast looking better? It's been super windy here for a few days. The plants on my deck do not like it. I do not like it.
XO S
Hello Sarah!
Last night we arrived late at a campground near Revelstoke (I am adding this late to your drawing - terrific, btw - I love the look of your tabletop contents!!) and slept in the car. We left Canmore late because of work and final preparations and then the going was sloooooooow. We spent too much time looking at tail lights of big trucks in the gathering gloom. It was misty, rainy, and generally gloomy for most of the trip.
Road closures due to construction (it’s great to see they are making progress on twinning the Trans Canada, but man, it’s a big job on a long road and they are doing a lot of the work in the evenings and at night) meant we wound up sitting on the road for long stretches waiting until they let a bunch of eastbound vehicles through on the one lane that remains open. Then, the westbound string of vehicles putted forward at a snail’s pace, did a few more kilometres and then had to stop again for the next bit of road-building.
Needless to say, in the car last night (thank goodness I had brought bedding and a car-shaped airbed for the back) there was no table. Nor was there any light or energy - hence my late contribution.
I’ll back date the post so it stays in order on the page and will continue my journey in the next note to you…
Talk soon -
Nikki
