Hi Nikki,
I desperately needed colour today, and even though I don't have watercolour paper (only mixed media paper) I tried to make a "sunset in the mountains" painting, in honour of your grand adventures. The paper buckled, of course, and my colour mixing skills are rudimentary, but from a distance, they look okay.

I will go to Opus tomorrow and get some proper watercolour paper, and a couple of necessary brushes. I tried to go today but was foiled by post-May Day parade parking/traffic issues.
Loved your map (and the climber beside it) in yesterday's post. I should draw a map of my walks in Esquimault. Not as exciting as yours, but might be fun. I can't believe you manage to run the writers' group, read about psychogeography, and get lost on a trail all in one day. Glad you didn't have to draw yourself at the bottom of a ravine, searching for a Wifi signal!

Hi Sarah -
I love these colours - I’m glad you had a craving! And, of course, appreciate the mountain theme :)
Despite gusty winds, cooler temps, and spatters of rain, a fun day of climbing. We revisited the crag where Fabio and I met ten years ago and snapped a commemorative photo :), which was kind of fun.
With images of climbers filling my head, not a surprise that I scribbled a climber this evening. I am not climbing nearly as much as my buddies, so I’m taking my psychogeography readings with me and more or less keeping up with my homework while they do extra climbs (and harder routes that my fake hips aren’t agreeing to attempt).
With spotty cell coverage, it’s quite lovely to be disconnected as often as I am connected - there’s nothing to be done but enjoy being out there in the weather, the rock, the wind, and climbers and hikers who are likewise enamoured with this place.
We have another full day of climbing tomorrow (though I will likely head for town at some point as I will need to wrap up some paperwork for work) and then a short day on Wednesday before we start the drive back.
Trying not to think too much about returning to reality quite yet, but keenly aware that these trips are always too short!
Until tomorrow -
Nikki
