Hi Nikki,
February 24, 2025
I didn't go to my art class today. Woke up with a really sore throat and a cough, and knew I wouldn't be able to sit through 2.5 hours of intense drawing. I did manage to do some yoga (no downward dog) and go to the grocery store, where I bought some bananas, an avocado and a few oranges, among other things.
So here they are, done with pen and ink, which I have zero clue how to use. Obviously no opportunities to erase, and I'm not sure cross-hatching works for shadows, but I enjoyed figuring out how to thicken a line and I liked the ink's fluidity--not like a pen at all. And it feels very old-timey. So, all in all, not too shabby for a first attempt.
No chance to get back into Caws for Concern, but may try later. I am having fun trying to think up silly titles!
XO Sarah
Dear Sarah -
OMG the titles! We DO need to come up with a working title (not The Thriller) - your suggestions over the past few days have made me giggle.
Sorry you are not feeling better - annoying as hell when a cold moves in and won’t move along. Ick.
I am only going to make the self-imposed ‘before midnight my time’ deadline if I find something to share from the archives… this is why I’m sharing an emergency seahorse from a past experiment with circles and squiggles. Honestly, I’m amazed that we haven’t had to resort to such tactics more often!
Crashing now - it’s been a long and overfull day.
See you tomorrow!
Nikki
