Sewing day

Dear Nikki/Dear Sarah--Day 389 of our daily drawing exchange

Dear Nikki,

I spent almost all day sewing, so my drawing today is of some the tools I used. I had grander ideas for making art today, but I ran out of steam after five hours of sewing. It’s been a very long time since I set in a sleeve or put on a collar.

And now it’s time to forage for food.

Sleeves? Collar? What are you making?

After a long and busy day (starting with the enthusiastic lecture with Jeanette Winterson and then moving along to a lot of real estate stuff), Fabio and I decided to watch Alex Honnold free solo Taipei 101 in Taiwan. We watched (well, Fabio watched, I confess I had to look away several times) the live broadcast on Netflix, which made my hands sweat so badly I thought I might need to go and get my chalkbag from the gear room.

I ran out of page long before I ran out of building. Fortunately, Honnold did not run out of stamina before he reached the top.

Quite the performance.

And, with that, I am taking my adrenaline-charged body to bed.
