Recycling and a climber-themed collage
Dear Nikki/Dear Sarah--Day 472 of our daily art adventure
Hey Nikki,
Sitting on my couch feeling a bit sore—I really shouldn’t have lugged a full bag of sea soil around, but I wanted to get on with my deck gardening project. And my head is sore because it has two stitches in it (from a tiny biopsy of my scalp). But the deck looks great!
As you know, I really didn’t like one of the Mother’s Day cards I made, so I cut it up and made a collage from some other old flower paintings. This one I really like, so I’m not giving it away. Which means tomorrow’s project will be another Mother’s Day card.
XO S
Hi Sarah -
I can see why you like this and don’t want to part with it!
There was lots going on here today - back and forth to the city, picked up a few groceries and got gass on the way home, and then enjoyed a lovely evening bike ride while waiting for signatures…
Signatures procured, offer submitted, and now we wait for a response.
Meanwhile, back in the downstairs office (which I will perhaps rename the studio, as I’ll try to contain the chaos of the arty stuff down there and move the more manageable messes of office and desk work to the upper landing/new office) I decided to try the texture printed on a transparency sheet method in conjunction with a lower layer of tissue paper and a sketchy drawing of a climber (modelled on Fabio) and came up with this…
I don’t like the face of the climber… I guess I could try to collage another face over the top?
I might try that unless I get pulled down another rabbit hole of cutting and pasting fun tomorrow…
Until then,
Nikki
