Hi Nikki, February 5, 2025
Time got away from me today, even though I only left the house to walk to the library, which has reopened. Today's drawing lesson was about using shapes with added texture to add depth. Here is a koala in a box, with a spaceship flying by overhead. Circles, cubes, shadows and texture. The spaceship was my idea, although clearly we haven't yet covered how to draw a cylinder flying. All in good time. Cylinders are coming, I'm sure. I wish I had more time to devote to drawing (and writing).
I loved your stick man, btw. He's very lively.

I spy bonus bunnies! And oh my - I can all too well relate to time getting away…
The hollowed out ears (as in, they have depth) and the innie portholes in the spaceship look good… Shading. I should do more of that :)
So interesting - when you said you were embarking on this drawing-a-day project I somehow thought of you drawing… I don’t know - vases and shells and seascapes - not uber-cute teddy bears (with slightly maniacal eyes) and hidden bunnies, spaceships… prickly balls. Seeing your drawings each day makes me smile - they are such a welcome arrival in my in-box!
My purple-clad dog came out of who-knows-where. I think I was thinking about my dearly departed dog… and also some vague ideas about doing more comics-style drawings (I really enjoy doing scribbly comics) and then maybe doing a series of self-portraits as different kinds of animals… Anyway, as I was musing, my pen was wandering and this dog appeared.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring!
