Hi Nikki,
I know you're still writing, but I thought I'd get this off to you before it gets too late. Now that my deck is all clean, and most things are now planted, I thought I'd do a drawing every month to capture the plants as they grow.
I think I'll ink it in and then add a few touches of watercolour. My son and his family gave me a little watercolour box of Winsor & Newton watercolours for my birthday. So much better than the cheap ones I bought. Can't wait to play with them.
See you Thursday.

Hi Sarah!
Good to see you today and great to be back at work on the book…
I found a list of the 37 bridges in Paris and thought I’d tackle a quick ballpoint sketch of Pont Neuf - the oldest bridge over the Seine. It was built between 1578 and 1607, which boggles my North American mind. I figure that if I draw enough arches, I will at some point figure out how they actually work and manage to hold up pedestrians, vehicles, marching bands…
Your collection of deck pots and plants is terrific - what a good subject for drawing. I am really enjoying your series of flowers opening - seeing the progress of the plantings over the coming months will be great. Is once a month going to be frequent enough? Seems the growing season comes and goes all too quickly - but maybe that’s just me and my Alberta thinking.
See you Thursday!
Nikki
