Hi Nikki,
As promised, today’s drawing is an exercise in mixing colour and playing with line. It was fun to do and I really like the result. Having better paint helped a lot.
Today was housecleaning and laundry day, with a weight routine, a fridge purge and some work thrown in for good measure. And yes, I’m a bit sore now. Time to finish the book I’m reading, which you might like: A Marriage at Sea: A True Story of Love, Obsession and Shipwreck, by Sophie Elmhirst. Short version: a British couple set off on their sailboat in 1972 from Plymouth, England . All goes well for about a year—across the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal and into the Pacific. But then a sperm whale comes up under their boat, the boat sinks and they are adrift in the life raft, towing the dinghy, for 118 days. That’s right—almost four months! Quite a story, especially since they are a very unusual couple, with wildly different approaches to the situation.

Hi Sarah -
YIKES!!! That is quite the story. Yes, I will be putting that on my reading list for sure.
Here’s another image from yesterday -
There were a lot of pipes and drums and very hot, sweaty people wearing too much wool at the end of the Highland Games, all heading for the exit after the final parade of bands.
Long, busy day today - had to go to the city to get my cell phone battery replaced - which was remarkably painless - a couple of hours and the good folks at the Genius Bar at the Apple store took care of it. I was, though, totally sans phone for those two hours, which felt extremely weird and uncomfortable.
We are now reunited and I’m back in the mountains, ready to tackle the rest of what promises to be a busy week.
Talk soon!
Nikki
