Plans vs reality X 2

Dear Sarah - Day 295 of our daily drawing exchange

Hi Sarah -

well, we lived to see another lovely day of climbing. I headed down fron the crag ahead of the others and found a café to sit and work, attempting to pull together text, images, and drawing for the Rome project. Roughed out a couple of experiments. If I proceed along these lines I will have a very fat project as I have many pages of text and have yet to complete even a fraction of the drawings I would need. Sigh. Not sure quite what I’ve got myself into here…

For fun, here’s how we ended this evening. The major fall climbing season is winding down here, so tonight was the last Tuesday evening for live Greek music at the Prego restaurant. Fabio couldn’t resist…

Hi Nikki,

I spent the majority of today inside, working on various manuscripts. Went for a walk late in the day and am now struggling to draw a “simple” wooden park bench. This is what I have got so far:

And here is the bench:

I need your iPad!! Those curves and angles are so tricky!

But here is the beginning of a drawing of an arbutus from yesterday’s drawalk. It is growing out of a concrete retaining wall. The pencil squiggles at the bottom are to indicate where the shadows lie. I might go back to this one.
