Hi Nikki,

It's been a full day with K&K. Went to the beach and built a pirate ship, complete with a plank and a flag made of seaweed. Warmed up with hot chocolate at a nearby cafe, and then came to my house where I got them to help me cull books and toys and puzzles they have outgrown. Delicious grilled cheese on sourdough for lunch, followed by an art session (after we culled all the non-functional felt pens). I took them home around 4, got a few groceries and then settled down to multi-task: drawing while soaking my sore feet in Epsom salts.
Three drawings are attached: one is Kianna's apology to Kai, one is what Kai told me was his "masterpiece!" (I love that kid!) and the other is my scribble drawing of the inside of my head after a day with the kids.
My dinner is in the oven and I have work still to do--and more time with the kids tomorrow and Sunday. It'll be an early night for me.
XO S
Hello Sarah!
Oh, what a delightful trio of artworks! And, what a fun-sounding day - we all need more pirate ships and grilled cheese sandwiches in our lives.
And… dragons.
And, yay YouTube!! These follow along tutorials are fun!
A VERY long and busy day at the end of which I find myself back in Calgary for a night or two. Hoping to get some writing (and drawing, and reading) done between clients over the next couple of days. Feels like that is time better spent than driving back and forth on the highway to home.
Can’t wait to hear about your next adventures with K&K.
Cheers,
Nikki
(p.s. The dragon fills the last page in my wee sketchbook procured while in Tokyo… Kind of fun to flip back through the pages to revisit a few of the earliest pages… Sometimes it does not feel as though I’m making any progress - whatever that might be - and then I look back and it seems as though I may be learning something? How are you feeling about our first 79 days?)
