Peonies and Intertwined Fingers

I don't think I would have attempted this drawing if I hadn't had a week full of hands. I can't exactly remember where we were in Spain when I took a photo of Dad with his head down, his fingers interlaced. Here's the photo...

Those fingers are going every which impossible way! He's haunting me this evening...

Drawing done with a ballpoint pen on paper in another hotel room in Calgary...

Tempted to take another crack but using the iPad to see if I can get those proportions and angles a little closer to correct.

Not sure if I'll be back in the mountains tomorrow or Monday -

My plan was to have a quiet afternoon at home, with lots of time to draw and write. Ha! I ended up spending the afternoon with Kai and Kianna, which is definitely not a bad thing, but when I got home in the late afternoon I was very tired, too tired to concentrate on drawing much of anything. So I went to the YouTube channel of an artist I follow on IG and followed along as she drew a peony. Doing this is my version of drawing a stick man. Very little effort required and predictable results. Much more difficult is not feeling ashamed (and not apologising).

Until tomorrow, my friend, when I plan to clean my house, draw for more than ten minutes, and write another scene or two of Bad Behaviour on the Beach.
