One fish, two fish - and the return of the nautilus

Someone on Substack was drawing fish today and I thought I'd have a go. I used the brush pens again, layering colours - and then added the shiny gold scales using my fancy COPIC pen procured in Tokyo.

Your fish is deliciously shimmery. Love the water. I drew a bit of a watery horizon line today as I tried a different approach with the nautilus, this time using two chunky paint sticks, so I couldn't be so precious and fussy. The paint sticks are a blunt tool--poor nautilus. Someday I will do it justice. I do like the effect of "stippling" with the end of the black stick.
