Hi Nikki,

Busy birthday day today. My daughter wanted to add to my art supplies so we met at Opus and upgraded my paints. Had lunch with a friend in the country and frittered the rest of the day away somehow. Meant to work, but didn't.

Decided to use up some of the paint that was already on my palette to make myself a birthday card! Now I can start anew with my fabulous new Winsor & Newton colours--including my fave: phthalo blue!

For the record, I think it is perfectly acceptable not to work at all on your birthday. Art supplies and time to use them - sounds pretty perfect to me.

This sad little effort lands squarely in ‘the thought that counts’ department as I have been going non-stop since I got up this morning and am still not quite finished with work but need to stop anyway and go to bed. Tomorrow is looking alarmingly full as well…

Sigh.

Looking forward to seeing what you might do with your phthalo blue.
