Hi Nikki,
I spent the morning working and then devoted over an hour to the rhodo. So much detail! Not as many flies.
I've also been going through old family photos to see if there are any of my father's Paris photos. During Covid I scanned almost all the family photos--and because my father was an avid photographer, there are LOTS. Some of my favorites are from when my parents worked at Camp Tanamakoon in Algonquin Park. And there are also tons of them camping. I've attached one of my father resting while chopping wood. He had a big scar on his shin from when an axe once went awry ...
I've been inside all day--time for a walk now. I need to visit the rhodo!

Hello!
My dad also had a scar from wood-chopping - he cleaved the triangle of flesh between thumb and forefinger when he was a kid, I think, possibly on one of his bicycle adventures from England to France… He was holding the bit of wood to be split into kindling with one hand and wielding the hatchet with the other and, well, you can imagine the rest of the story.
I have to say that rhodo is looking pretty marvelous - you can tell that you really took your time with it. Cool!

Dani and I wound up staying in Calgary as my car won’t be ready to take home until tomorrow… We used our waiting time wisely by tootling around in a loaner car to do some errands including procuring the underpinnings for a poetry slam prize… You will see this fan again in a future incarnation, but for now, decided to tackle a drawing of where it all begins…
Tomorrow, more errands in the city, meetings, phonecalls, showings, and eventually, dropping Dani back at the airport after what has been a woefully short and over-busy visit. She needs to come back soon (or, I need to go to the island before too much longer…)
But, for now, we we will return to our regular zoom and phone communications. What did we ever do before online meetings???
Until tomorrow -
Nikki
I'm a fan of the fan! Your drawing is lovely.
