Dear Nikki/Dear Sarah--Day 430 of our daily drawing exchange
Hi Nikki,
Your dental adventures sound truly horrific. But your drawing of the tooth pot and plant was delightful. Hope you’re not suffering any nasty aftermath, although it’s hard to imagine that you wouldn’t be.
I tried combining text (a quote from Emily Dickinson) and a small painting today. I have zero calligraphy skills, and even though I am a good speller, I always seem to make mistakes. And honestly, calligraphy is not a rabbit hole I care to go down.

Hi Sarah -
I would love to go down the arty calligraphy rabbit hole, but maybe in my next lifetime. I at least need to emerge from the rather deep pit of collagery into which I seem to have tumbled before I turn my hand to something new.
So, the Paris Collage Collective hosts a weekly challenge. This week, we are to start with this image:
I have also started reading The Iguana by Anna Maria Ortese (yes, another title for the magic realism in literature and film course), in which someone falls in love with an iguana. One of the first gifts he gives her is a lovely head scarf.
You know where my mind went…
They sure are strange-looking creatures.
I will quite likely have nightmares after this.
Until tomorrow -
Nikki
