Dear Nikki,
Confession #1: Cass is telling all to Rose, who is flabbergasted by what she hears. As I said in my text, this scene is hard to write, especially out of order. Once I got into it, I was able to move past my own discomfort with jumping ahead. It's heavy stuff and will need "plumping up" later, but I'm getting close to the big reveal and some fancy knife work.
Confession #2: I didn't draw today. I'm sending a doodle I did a few days ago, based on an IG prompt. The idea was to accept the fact that you can't always draw a perfect circle, but you can do something cool with imperfect ones. Fun to do, especially with the framing device.
I bailed out of my online drawing course. Fortunately I got a full refund. Made me really appreciate the in-person class I took recently. It's obviously very tempting to speed things up online, but when it's too fast to follow it's just frustrating. I did learn about water brush pens, though, which will be fun to play with.

Hello, Sarah!
Tonight was the last lecturish class of the semester after a very long and full day of workish stuff, so when I sat down (one eye on the clock - midnight draws nigh) to draw, I had no idea what to attempt. So, I just let my pencil have its way, scribbling nonsense in the visual equivalent of a free-writing session.
As we agreed, I will also tackle the scene but will refrain from reading what you have written. Very curious how it will go when we then take a look at our two takes on what went down in Liam’s kitchen. Given we haven’t written any of the rest of the manuscript in this manner, I wonder what we’ll take away from the exercise.
Dani and I have pretty much finished the draft of our big final essay/project for class (still working on the visual art pieces, but the writing is getting there), so that should free up a little time for me to get my version of the big reveal done before our next joint session. Fingers crossed.
Glad to hear you were able to get your money back. And, I like the circles! They are far more interesting than a series of technically perfect circles… they are alive!
I, however, am half dead and more than ready for bed - so, I’ll head there now and talk to you tomorrow -
For now,
Nikki
