Dear Nikki
January 22, 2025
I thought I'd try drawing something non-symmetrical today and chose this little Mexican fish, which is actually very bright colours that I was unable to replicate. After I started colouring, I realized that I should have just left it as a pencil sketch. The colour isn't adding anything. But when I see all the colour you are using, I get carried away.
Today is my afternoon to pick up Kianna. We always go to a cafe and draw together on LCD drawing pads--does something so ephemeral count as drawing? One click of a button and it's gone. It's a very low-tech version of drawing on an iPad, so I'm going to count it!!

Drawing with a stick in the sand (or snowshoes on a glacier) counts as drawing. So, yes - LCD art works. Sounds like a modern version of an Etch-a-Sketch. Can you snap a photo with your phone before it disappears?
Today I decided to start with some random splotches of colour:
on top of which I added some pencil squiggles:
Not sure if I can rightfully call this drawing either… Some sort of strange dreamscape.
So grateful that we are committing to this daily practice as I’m sure that left to my own devices (and given the fullness of today’s schedule) I would not have bothered.
