This is what it’s come to…

Each time I tried to put pen to paper… the phone rang. Or an email arrived I could not ignore. So I thought I’d just get my hand warmed up by doodling around the edges and then do an actual drawing of some sort in the space between… but in the end, the space remains and I need to go to bed!

Cut up your credit cards!

Well, to be honest, it wasn't an actual credit card, but I did cut up an old loyalty card to make these marks.

I had done a watercolour of some purple flowers that I was not happy with (lessons start tomorrow-yay!) so I cut up the card into various strips and grabbed a scrap piece of watercolour paper and started fooling around. I liked the effect so much that I went back to the purple flowers and attacked them with the card, trying to obliterate (or at least obscure) the purple.

So today's lesson is that fooling around can bring unexpected benefits. But you knew that already!
