Hi Nikki,
My day started with my watercolour class (colour mixing and then clouds 2 ways) followed by a lesson in how to use bear spray, and an early-ish walk to town with GIllian. Picked up coffee and quiche (for dinner) and walked home.
Bit of work and then off to swim at Quarry Lake while G and a friend took their paddleboards to the reservoir. All the admonition I've ever heard about swimming alone had to be put aside; I had a lovely swim among the paddleboards and inflatables, and then sat in the shade and read a book. The wind kicked up and the clouds blew by. Hot/cold/hot/cold. Home now and showered. About to go sit on G's deck and maybe look at our book. Or not.

Hi Sarah -
well, it’s most peculiar to know you are just over there on the other side of the river…
Are you a heat person? Because it was pretty toasty today - your swim sounds delectable. I’ve been running around all morning, then on calls and the computer, and then Fabio came home after an 18-pitch climb hard on the heels of a night shift… We meandered over to the river to soak aching, over-heated feet…
… and polish off the rest of the cherries.
I have put some art supplies on the desk in the guest room. There are also several books about watercolour technique, none of which I have read (which should be obvious from the pen and wash above).
Not quite sure what tomorrow will bring as Fabio is perhaps going to be around for a partial date day.
I have been receiving notifications about changes being made in the shared novel document… Will try to work on the missing section (first day of the retreat) tomorrow between calls and some time with Fabio. He will be heading for the hills Thursday/Friday - there are plans afoot to do the Rundle traverse, weather permitting.
Are you planning to do any Stampede time this visit?
Talk to you tomorrow-
Nikki
