Hi Nikki,
Today was a busy day, but I found a bit of time to draw in between going for a walk along the Gorge and having tea with a client. I follow the Audubon Society on Instagram and saved a photo of two Northern Cardinals to draw. Apparently the male (on the right) is feeding the female as part of a courtship ritual. The male is bright red, but the female is very drab except for her red beak. I struggled to get the angle of her head right. At one stage she looked very much like a dog!
Tomorrow I hope to be drawing Mother's Day cards with the kids. Will send you the results.
XO S
Hello Sarah!
What a lovely sentiment (male dribbling food into an open beak of the female)! Today, after putting quite a few miles on my new car, I arrived home to dinner prepared by my mate, which was lovely. We aren’t so very different to our avian cousins, are we? (I hasten to add, no dribbling was involved - we both used forks…)
While waiting for some initials and counter-signatures and counter-initials, etc. I decided to draw a Paris lamp post. Could they have created a more twiddly pole atop which to perch a light? Methinks not. I have simplified for the sake of the drawing, but holy smokes, there’s a lot going on in a single lamp post when one starts looking closely!
Signatures procured, so I’m leaving the drawing where it stands…
Until tomorrow -
Nikki
That lamppost is lovely--so evocative!
