Hi Nikki,
Is there anything more frustrating and demoralizing than trying on jeans? Maybe trying on bathing suits?
I must have tried on twenty pairs of jeans today, in three different places. Such was my desperation. I meant to draw earlier in the day, but by the time I got home from the Great Jeans Expedition, all I wanted to do was go for a walk in the sunshine. And try to forget that I really need to buy a bathing suit before the ocean swimming season starts up again. The horror.
I did take a picture of yet another anchor today--why have I never noticed all the anchors before?--but time only allowed for following along on a "how to draw a canyon in your paper" exercise. So here we are: I have one new pair of jeans and a (faux) hole in my sketchpad.
I'm also making progress with assigning dates to every section of All She Wrote. The most difficult thing about it is stopping myself from doing rewrites along the way!
XO Sarah
Dear Sarah -
Isn’t it funny how we suddenly start to see what’s been there all along now that we are looking, looking, looking all the time?
I wound up with not a second to spare today and so, am pulling this silly cartoon out of the archives…
I think this came from when I was trying to draw figures using mostly basic shapes - triangles, circles, rectangles and such… It came up when I searched my image archives for ‘eyes’ (you know, given the theme of looking and seeing…)
That’s it for now - I have an early morning tomorrow and another busy day that includes a trip to the city and some final prep for the spoken word workshop I’m running at the library on Saturday.
Farewell for now!
Nikki
