Bridge to nowhere and painted pots

Dear Sarah -

I seem to be stuck on bridges. So… I tried a ‘how to draw a bridge’ tutorial to try to figure out how the arches work. I hadn’t realized we were going to be using two point perspective and so my left side bank and walkway were sort of cut off/scrunched, but it was helpful to try to focus on where all the lines lead. The colour was just because the pencil was so boring.

It would have been even more interesting had I added a parade of flâneurs and their turtles ambling across the bridge, but that was a bit much for the available time and energy.

Sorry this is so late. I added watercolour to my sketch and I'm on the fence about it. It seems a bit... fussy. Maybe I should just leave my pencil or pen drawings alone, and learn how to paint with watercolour on its own.
