Birthday flowers and emergency blind contour guitar players
Dear Nikki/Dear Sarah--Day 501 of our daily art experiences
Dear Nikki,
Hope the music retreat is feeding your soul and spirit the way my musical experience today fed mine. My granddaughter played her first piano recital after starting lessons in February. She was the first student to play and I know she was nervous but her dad, who has a lot of experience performing, gave her a lot of support and she aced it. Even added two deep curtsies at the end.
I was given a gorgeous bunch of flowers for my birthday (ten days ago), and kept meaning to draw them. By the time I got around to it, they were a bit bedraggled. Nothing a little ink and watercolour can’t fix!

Hi!
OMG I am having sooooo much fun! Laughter. Music. New friends. It’s been an amazing micro-getaway!
I have snuck off to my room for a few minutes to produce these two blind contour drawings of women playing guitar (from photos on the internet - being resourceful) -
And that’s all I have time for because we are now about to start a jam session and I don’t ever want to go to bed :)
I really do feel like a kid at summer camp -
Tomorrow I’ll crash back to reality with an IKEA detour to pick up a few things that need to get to the coast.
Ciao!
Nikki
