Bailing in the Rain
Dear Sarah - Day 287 of our daily drawing exchange
Hi Sarah -
Well, it’s good to hear that you are not hating being back on Littleneck. I hope to join you there before too long, but I tell you, this little Greek island where I’m hanging out is proving to be difficult to ignore!
Today’s (mis)adventure involved getting rained off a multi-pitch route when the light drizzle (forecast said it would be negligible and over almost before it started) persisted, soaking the route - and us - and forcing us to retreat by rapelling off the route after we had completed four of six pitches.
We had a short conference on this ledge and decided it was best to just head down and try again another day.
After cappuccinos and assorted tasty pastries in town, we retreated to our respective accommodations and I tried to do a page regarding pasta using various bits and bobs from notebooks and the iPad. That didn’t work out too well, as you can see. I’ll have to give that another try at some point and see if I can sort out the formatting and the pixellation of the lettering.
For now, though, I need to sort out dinner…
Ciao!
Nikki
Hi Nikki,
Big excitement for me today was paying $95 for a high dose flu shot, with a bonus Covid shot at the same time. I really hope I don’t have a bad reaction—never have before, but this is the first time I’ve done the shots together.
The rest of the day has been spent on Littleneck—my goal is to have completed a full read-through and edit before you return. It’s reading well, I think—nothing egregiously awful anyway.
I painted this leaf yesterday. The streets and gardens are strewn with maple leaves which will soon turn to slippery mulch, now that the rains have come.
My dinner plans include butternut squash sauce with spinach and ricotta ravioli. Not made by Italian hands, but in the spirit of your adventures with pasta.
XO S
