And... glaucoma
Just when you think cataracts are bad enough (and, how hard is it to teach this old dog new tricks?)
Another day, another page of figuring things out in the world of Procreate. My particular challenge today was adding and manipulating text boxes. OMG - I was ready to pull my hair out, so imagine how happy I was to discover this handy dandy video tutorial on YouTube:
… because, yes, I was losing my mind.
Alas, I watched this video and then started on another series of Procreate for Beginners tutorials AFTER I had hand-lettered today’s page in utter frustration.
Here’s the other series, btw - it’s great if you are starting from scratch, as I am…:
All that to say, tomorrow’s page of the continuing saga should include text boxes placed in the appropriate places and sized to be both readable and fit within the boundaries of the page…
Watching these tutorials did make me marvel at how we ever managed to make, fix, or do anything back in the days before YouTube. Over the past few weeks, I’ve dismantled and reassembled a fridge (well, hubby and I did that together), made some pretty cute (if I say so myself) watercolour Christmas cards, learned how to create a printable template for a poetry chapbook, fold my t-shirts in a satisfyingly tidy manner, and yes, discovered some nifty things about Procreate. Oh, and kept tabs on my daughter and son-in-law who are rebuilding a former BC Ferries lifeboat and turning it into a liveaboard destined for the canals in Europe:
A general THANKS! to all the YouTube creators out there dedicated to making useful content that answers all questions beginning with “How do I…”
Question of the day: What’s something you learned how to do by watching a YouTube video?
Alternate question of the day: What’s your favourite source of Procreate tutorials for comic strip writers?
YES... All hail the YouTube help(ers)
Recently we learned how to rod our drains on there. Not pretty - but so helpful
