Hi Nikki,
I went for a walk around 9:30 this morning because I didn't trust the sun to stay out all day. I took a photo of a large anchor on a lawn near Saxe Point, and decided to draw it after spending a couple of hours writing and then a couple of hours embroidering my friend's jeans. I am inching up the lower leg of the pants and am almost halfway to the knee. Just filled in the center of a sunflower with what are called French knots, to look like the seeds. Very detailed work, so it was a pleasure to pick up a stick of charcoal and be messy.
While I was embroidering (and after you sent the AI images) I listened to a podcast interview with a woman named Shannon Vallor, who has written a book called The AI Mirror: How to Reclaim Our Humanity in an Age of Machine Thinking. It is written from a moral and philosophical perspective--she is the Baillie Gifford Chair in the Ethics of Data and Artificial Intelligence at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. I'm going to be reading that one!
And now, once more, it's dinnertime.
XO Sarah
Hi Sarah -
The book sounds fascinating - and, given my current interest in all things AI, I think I need to read it. Will try to track it down at the library and we can compare notes.
Today was absolutely jam packed with various showings and clients - and when I finally had a minute to sit down with a pen in hand, this is what randomly happened:
Blobs. It was rather relaxing to just make a bunch of shapes with no particular end goal in mind.
Please share a photo of the pants when you have finished - I am beyond curious :)
Until tomorrow -
Nikki
