That is a gorgeous drawing of the sumo wrestler! So few lines but such a strong sense of power and substance. Having no sumo wrestlers to draw (sugar-crazed five-year-olds at a birthday party don't stay still long enough to photograph, let alone draw), I drew an apple. Twice.
Once with a very soft pencil, and once with a pen. I'm trying to figure out which implement works best for any given subject. In this instance, I don't think there's a "best" just a "different," and I like both drawings.

Hello! I’m not sure how I managed to miss posting this yesterday given that the day lasted twice as long as usual (flying back from Tokyo we recovered the day we lost flying in the other direction a couple of weeks ago).
This key (lovely, old, French-ish) was placed on our table in a Parisienne-themed restaurant in Shibuya to identify our order. I used an odd combination of what was close at hand - a fine-tipped pen, watercolour wash, and the shiny new alcohol-based COPIC pens I picked up at the art supply store I mentioned in an earlier message.
As I write, I’m pretty jet-lagged, but hope to get my internal clock turned around sooner than later so I can start to feel a little more coherent!
