Hi Nikki,
March 12, 2025
Do you remember those kids books? The Celery Stalks at Midnight and Bunnicula? So funny.
Another dreary, wet day in my part of the world. Waiting for a package to arrive that was supposed to be here by now. I'm just about to leave to pick up the kids, so I thought I'd do my drawing(s) before I go.
So here are two ways of treating celery--one ink, one charcoal. Again, charcoal wins for me. The first image is supposed to be named Celery Ink. Charcoal on the brain...
Off to Nana-land I go!

Hi Sarah!
Proving once again that any subject is a good subject when it comes to drawing - Celery FTW!
I turned to my phone and a photo on the weekend I took from the desk/office area of the separate bedroom in my recent hotel suite.
I wanted to see if I could get the perspective more or less right and have a sense of the door opening out of the room, the window beyond the bed and then, the world beyond the window. In the end, I couldn’t quite figure how best to add the trees just visible beyond the sheers (in real life).
It was good practice to see how the basic composition worked, though it is crudely executed.
Tomorrow is writing day for us (I think - how is this possible, another week gone by???). See you in the morning!!
Cheers,
Nikki
