Hi Nikki,
How did it get to be 6:45??? No wonder I'm hungry! I sat down to draw over an hour ago, and here we are!
I have been taking pics of a pink rhodo bud as it opens. Today is part one. The one thing I couldn't figure out was how to draw all the teeny tiny flies with transparent wings that were all over it. So I edited them out. If I was using colour, I might be able to add them. Tempting as it is to add colour (you can see in the photo how bright the colour is), I don't have the skill to do justice to the colours or the textures of the bud.
Today was sunny but very windy. Cleaned my house, did some work, went for a long walk with a friend, tried to stake my sweetpeas in the wind, wrote a bit more about Rose post-stabby stabby. And now it's time to forage for food.
Hope you and D had (are still having) an excellent day.
XO S
Hello Sarah!
I see what you mean about colour… how do you handle that without someone saying, That can’t be real. Eager to see the progression day by day…
Dani and I have, indeed, been keeping busy (VERY!)
Today we had lunch at the golf club (after viewing several homes with a client) and then, later, had a good study session at the Canary Café. Dani suggested I draw a golf club, but I decided a canary was perhaps more interesting.
The first Saturday of each month is a global family catch-up chat - it was great to see various relatives checking in from Tokyo to the Bahamas and various points between. It was a good chance to get the family news as it seems we all have heard something from someone but nobody has received all the updates from all the far-flung family branches.
Tomorrow, back to the city - not sure if we will be there for one or two nights. Not that it matters much for this project. Have pencil and and paper, will travel.
Until tomorrow -
Nikki
