24 hours and a quick brown fox
Dear Nikki/Dear Sarah--Day 412 of our daily drawing exchange
Hi Nikki,
Great to see you today. We got a lot done in Littleneck, and I’m feeling good about it. I’ve alerted my beta reader that we’re almost ready to send All She Wrote out into the world (or at least to three readers). Kind of amazing!
I’m feeling more optimistic than I did this morning, about both writing and drawing. Perhaps it was the 1.5 hour acupuncture session, part of which was just talking to the acupuncturist about what’s been going on, and having her listen intently. I’ll go back for follow-up next week.
Yesterday I did an abstract thingy which I declined to post. Here it is now—and I don’t hate it nearly as much as I did yesterday. Funny how that works. On my drive home I saw a gorgeous cloud formation over the ocean. Second image is my attempt to capture the contrasts of light and dark.
Hope the rest of your day wasn’t too crazy. See you Wednesday morning.
XO S
Hello Sarah!
I’m so glad you are feeling a bit better - and also very glad you posted the abstract piece from yesterday. Very cool! Love the colours and the mix of straight, curve, and - not even sure what to call it - colour splurge? I’ve looked at it several times now, and each time notice something new. Such is the magic of abstraction.
I have not stopped since I saw you - very busy today with clients (so it goes when visitors are here on vacation and fall in love with this place where I live).
Anyway, by the time I sat down to draw, I had no ideas whatsoever. I searched online ‘what is the easiest thing to draw?’ and this was the first thing that popped up.
To be precise, the little fox was the thing, which looked a bit sad all alone on the page, so I thought, hey - how hard could a quick circle of colour be for a bit of contrast? A freehand circle, however, is about the furthest thing from ‘easy’ to draw…
Anyhoo, against all odds, I managed to put pencil to paper, so I’m happy enough.
Until tomorrow -
Nikki
